Personal Statement
Hi! I'm Olivia Sweasy and I would love to introduce myself! I have grown up doing a lot of sports, but when I started lacrosse in 2018 I absolutely loved it. Not only was it the welcoming feeling of my team, or the amazing coaches, but the sport instantly grew to be my favorite. I am a sophomore at Oldham County High School and I would usually start as defensive mid, then I would switch with one of the mildfielders throughout the game. I really like playing midfield because I enjoy running and playing all positions.
Although lacrosse means a lot to me, my academics and things outside of lacrosse do too. My faith means a lot to me and I spend a couple days a week being apart of my church community. Whether that be our youth group, leader meetings, or other church activities. Because my faith has influenced me a lot, I am leaning toward a major in ministry or psychology. I am not fully decided on those majors because a lot of other things spark my interest as well. Being a good student means a lot to me and I try everyday to do the best I can in school. School, not only in my academics, but in other areas of my life has taught me a lot. Such as, time management, responsibility, and working hard.
Lacrosse has shown me a lot about myself as a player and a person. I love cheering my teammates on whenever they are on or off the field. I value the bond of a team and the unity that comes from lacrosse. Although I can be serious during lacrosse when I need to, I mainly aim to have fun while doing the sport. Because that's what it's all about, right? Each day I focus on improving myself in lacrosse and working hard toward my goals. I would love to have the opportunity to pursue my lacrosse career and be apart of a team during college.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
