Personal Statement
I have been a three-sport athlete my entire life and once I discovered lacrosse in third grade, I immediately fell in love with the game. Over the years I had developed a strong passion for lacrosse and my biggest dream was to play this sport in college amongst others who share the love of the game. Not only my stick skills, but my character has developed over time by being on a team that aspires to push each other and has shaped me into the person I am today.
I have always considered myself as very dedicated and passionate about reaching my goals. I continually seek out others in different ways to improve for myself and will always listen and show it on the field. I have found myself stepping out of my shell and become confident in leading and finding my voice. By doing so, I have set examples for others on the team. I have very strong stick skills and am confident in using left and right. I have a good vision around the field and communicate to others about possible opportunities they (and myself) have.
The summer of sophomore year I had suffered from an injury and was out for two and half seasons. This was extremely hard to comprehend as I had been playing sports year-round my entire life. Although I am 100% recovered, I had learned many things from the time. Most things in life had come easy to me, up until my recovery. At this point in my life, I had to try harder than I ever did mentally and physically to return back to normal. Through this long process I believe my character had developed so much and I now never take things for granted. My drive is stronger than ever and put my all into everything.
Academically, I am very involved within my school and push myself to grow. I am taking all honors, AP, and college classes while playing three sports, a National Honor Society Officer, former Class Vice President, Leadership group and make time to coach younger girls in lacrosse and field hockey. I believe that by being involved in different things in the community I have learned to balance out different things going on while still painting effort and passion in everything I do.
