Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember, I've always loved playing sports and being outside. When my parents gave me my first lacrosse stick when I was in 1st grade, it quickly became my favorite sport. Since then, I've grown to love every aspect of the game, especially the comradery of being on a close-knit team, learning to work together, and supporting and challenging one another. Both on and off the field, I am a very determined, hard working individual, as I strive to excel in whatever I'm doing. I am an extremely coachable player, and I always give 110% when I'm out on the field. I respect and listen to my coaches and teammates and I'm always open to advice and suggestions, as I want to learn and do all that I can to better myself and my team. Both in lacrosse, ice hockey, and soccer, I've been told I have the ability to see the field/ice well, and lead by a strong work ethic. I've been able to give back to my community by teaching young girls how to play lacrosse at clinics, as well as teaching young children how to skate every Sunday throughout the winter.
Some of my other favorite activities include windsurfing, snowboarding, tennis, playing the guitar/piano/singing, and spending time with my family and friends. Academic wise, my interests lie in the realm of biology and the sciences, where I'd like to make an impact somehow environmentally or within the area of health and wellness.
I'm looking forward to finding the right college match, as I want to continue to challenge myself in the classroom and out on the field.
