Hi, my name is Madison Kappler. I play for Mary Help of Christian’s Academy in North Haledon, New Jersey. I play midfield and I am a huge asset to my team as I lead in ground balls and assists. I also play club for Jersey Thunder where I am going into my fourth season with. For club I strictly play attack where they value my feeds and grit for ground balls. My goals as a lacrosse player at the collegiate level is to not only be challenged at a high level but to challenge my teammates to become better players. If there is a time when I have an off day, I always take the opportunity to train my hardest on my own to be the best I possibly can. I firmly believe that you play how you practice. Therefore, my main goal is to not only show up for myself but also my teammates so I can help them grow as a player and help our team grow in success.
I’m a good asset for any team because of my work ethic and grit. I have a very strong work ethic which is something I can provide for the team. If there is an area I need to improve on you can expect me to be asking questions and working hard to better my skills in that area. I’m a very quick learner and take mistakes as an opportunity to improve. I’m able to quickly implement feedback from coaches into the game. I also will always give 100% no matter the situation. I will fight and give my all for every 50/50 ball, every ground ball, and every drive.
I’m different from other players because I’m able to play anywhere that is best for the team as I am extremely well rounded as a player. I truly love every position where I currently play all. On defense I have multiple forced turnovers and leading in ground balls. I am confident enough to take any player in a 1v1. On midfield I get to use my skills to have most control over the game while also being able to be on the draw circle. Attack is my favorite position as I am a huge feeder. I am the player who loves to see my teammates succeed just as much as myself. I have a huge eye for open attackers and am able to feed a perfect ball, as well as drive to net when we need a goal or I see a lane.
