Personal Statement
I have been playing since the 6th grade. I first started on a German/American youth team in Kaiserslautern, Germany; where I first found my love for the sport. My younger sister and I practiced with the Youth team for the Kaiserslautern Lumberjacks. We played together with a German girls team from Dusseldorf, as we played against teams from Frankfurt and Cologne. I played three years on with the team until my family moved to Bluffton, South Carolina. I began as a freshman starter on my high school team and am currently in the 12th grade at Bluffton High School in Bluffton,SC. I have been a captain since sophomore year, always hoping to establish leadership and helping fellow team mates exceed in their skill as well as my own. I believe that helping others improves myself as a leader as well as a person itself. I am an honors student as well as an advanced placement student. I hold a 4.0 GPA. I show dedication and determination in my academics as well as athletics. I have good leadership skills and care about my teammates on and off the field. I am also a competitive athlete and student and follow rules in depth.
I am currently a member of the Bluffton High School girls lacrosse team and participate in the Top Left Gulls travel team playing in tournaments during the summer and the fall. My freshman year in our High School season I received the Amtahcha Award from my head coach. My junior year I received the Coach's Award, awarded to players that show leadership, positivity, hard work ethic, and teamwork.
I plan to play college lacrosse because of my passion for the sport. I also plan to improve my skills to a higher level by practicing and learning new skills. I am looking to possibly coach players to love and become passionate playing the sport.
