Personal Statement
My name is Lauren Pavlina and I'm a freshman on the varsity Cy-Fair Iron Maidens Lacrosse team in Cypress, Texas. I play mostly attack but I'm slowly moving toward midfield in order to strengthen my game as a player and become more competitive.
I get all A's while being enrolled in AP and honor classes. I am currently on the cross country and track team in order to build stamina and speed for lacrosse. Although lacrosse plays a big role in my life, I'm very passionate about doing well in school academically and completing tasks to the best of my abilities. Photography is one of my favorite classes and has taught me how to be creative and how to make something special out of something ordinary. In college, I want to be challenged not just in the classroom, but on the field as well. Because of my father’s job I've moved to various different places around the country, and I think this has helped me learn to adapt to different environments quickly and learn how to start over in a new state. Lacrosse is a big part of my summers but, while I'm not competing in tournaments and attending various camps I work as a lifeguard.
I started playing lacrosse in 3rd grade when I decided to try out for a team in Virginia. I quickly fell in love with the sport, and couldn't imagine my life without it. I've learned the importance of being on time and working with different people in order to become a team member through lacrosse. I'm very motivated and determined when it comes to things I enjoy doing so I'm willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals.
