Personal Statement
This is my 9th year of playing lacrosse and I love playing as much as I can. Throughout those years I have played on local club, regional travel, and national travel teams over spring, summer, and fall seasons. Five of those years I played at the U14 level and gained a lot of experience at a younger age. On the field, I am hardworking, social when it is the right time, and lead by example. My high school coaches describe me as a “sponge” by being teachable and applying what I learn.
As a player, I enjoy being a playmaker by dodging to score or drawing the defense to pass to teammates. Another thing I appreciate are fast transitions through teamwork and passing. I also like moving off-ball and trying to create opportunities for my teammates. This past year we’ve been working on pairs and motion offenses.
Both on and off the field, having a positive and hardworking culture is important to me. Outside of team practices, I work on lacrosse skills daily through wall ball, dodging and footwork through Shake School Lacrosse, agility and strength training with semi-private workouts at Total Athlete Performance, and semi-private online lessons from professional lacrosse players. I also like to do film study by watching videos on skill techniques, team strategy, and watching LaxCon sessions. I enjoy watching both women’s and men’s college and professional lacrosse games as much as I can.
To accomplish my goals, I use a 168 plan (24 hours x 7 days) to efficiently schedule my priorities. This helps me focus my time for each day whether that is academics, lacrosse, training, or fun. I believe that learning how to schedule my priorities will help me succeed in high school, lacrosse, and prepare me to play at the collegiate level. My goals for lacrosse are to get at least 1% better each day, to play at the collegiate level, and to possibly coach in the future.
Some of the accomplishments I’ve already achieved reflect this hard work:
Current GPA is 4.0
1st Team All-Conference as a Freshman
Shake School Lacrosse Top 25 for class of 2024
