Personal Statement
At the age of five my mom and dad brought me to a softball practice with nothing but a glove and told me to tie up my tennis shoes. Nine years later I was still tying my shoelaces, but know I knew what it meant to love a sport and give it your all. I had learned what being a part of a team was, and that persistence is required to truly play a sport.
Rowing has become a place where I have been able to push all of my energy into learning something completely new, and it has helped me become a part of something much larger than myself.
In the future I hope to continue being a part of a team, whether it be in the classroom, on the field, in the water, or in my place of work. Currently I hope to go to college on either a pre-med or law track, and I hope to do something where I can help as many people as possible with the abilities that I have been given.
