Hi I’m Adella and I consider myself to be a hardworking and passionate individual not only in rowing but also in life. I thoroughly enjoy rowing and this is why I am doing it currently as well as why I plan to continue doing it in college. In the summer of my freshman year was the first time that I tried rowing and I am so glad that I did because the girls that I row with have become my family and pushing myself to my physical limits is quite exhilarating. Rowing, taking AP and Honors classes at school, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family all at the same time has forced me to learn to manage my time which I am very grateful for. In rowing, and everything else for that matter, my main goals are to grow and to learn as I progress. Every 2k so far this season that I have done, I have beat my previous record and I plan to continue to do so as I improve. As far as my academic career goes I love to challenge myself just to see the lengths to which I can go to. I have always chosen the classes that will help better my understanding of the world and this is a reason that I have opted to participate in the IB Diploma Program offered at my school in my junior year this coming fall. I really do take joy in learning and absorbing everything that I can from people who know more than I do or from people with different experiences than myself. Although I am too young to have found all of the things that I am passionate about yet, I am sure that rowing is one of those things and I would be grateful for the opportunity to compete in it at the collegiate level.
