I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to cox at the national level on six occasions (2 HOCR, 2 Youth Nats, 2 Summer Nats) before even starting the spring season of my sophomore year. My boats medaled in both Youth National races, and we won our category in the Head Of the Charles Regatta last fall (2022).
I am competitive and a hard worker, on and off the water. I have been told I am coachable, funny in a dry way, and cool under pressure, which comes in handy working with teenage boys all day.
I have been a coxswain for the men's team at Martime Rowing Club / New Canaan Crew (CT) since sixth grade and a member of the varsity team since eighth grade.
I would like to be a part of a women's team in college because I love this sport, I love being part of a team, and I think that moving to a women's team would give me the best opportunity to succeed in the sport. Also, my sister is a freshman coxswain for Cal women's rowing. (She loves it.)
Academics is very important to me, too. So a college with strong academics and a competitive rowing program would be the perfect combination for my college experience — if I am lucky enough to find it.
