Update ** Heading to the Head of the Charles! Race Day Sunday Oct 20th. East Lyme HS women's youth 8s, division starts at 10:24am**
My senior year is underway, and I plan to make the most if it! This summer was a great way to continue improving technique and building in new area, like balance, by sculling. Rowing is a passion of mine, and I hope to continue on. I can sincerely thank my coaches who have inspired this journey, and continue to believe in me - and build this team.
My primary goal is to select a college with a strong rowing program. I'll continue to work hard and devote much of my time to building skill, power, and leadership. I row both port and starboard, and can switch between the two easily. I will always give it my all, no matter the weather or workout. I try to bring a smile to brighten everyone's day, and encourage everyone to help them reach their best. In the end rowing is a team sport and not an individual sport, so I will always do my best to help others, even if it means they will out-perform me.
I not only row, but also have been an active equestrian for 10 years and a volunteer junior firefighter with my local department for almost four years (with an active on-scene presence with 7 working structure fires) - all to help better my community , and give back. It really hit home to me, when my father and I arrived to a fully involved structure fire. We were able to meet the first engine on-scene, and I worked the hydrant while he was stretching line to go inside. I am looking to get my EMT certification within the next year. I am always actively looking for a way to help improve my community and better others. As another example, I recently traveled to Texas to help rebuild houses after Hurricane Harvey.
With this passion and drive in all that I do, I hope you will consider me for your Fall 2020 team!
