Avery Britton '24 Recruiting Profile

Growing up I was a competitive soccer player. My whole life I have always been involved in being part of a team. When I decided to end my soccer career in my freshman year of high school, I did not know where to go from there. Because of my age, it was too late for me to start out at a rec level in most sports. Luckily, someone in my neighborhood rowed and introduced me to the sport. I started rowing for AJRA my sophomore year as a novice in the U17+ 8 A boat. I put immense effort into both my ergs and my water time. Over the past year and a half of rowing, I have grown so much as a rower and as a teammate and work to push myself as well as everyone around me. I am now in my second varsity season of rowing at AJRA and plan to continue to work hard to improve my technique and time on the water and on the erg.
