Personal Statement
I have found sport to be the one constant in my life when moving countries and schools many times throughout my primary schooling. When I returned to my home town of Brisbane, Australia a few years ago and started my high schooling at St Margarets Anglican girls school, I was able to realise how much sport really shaped the way I am today.
I am Alice O'Toole, a 17 year old Rower, graduating high school in 2023 (December) located in Brisbane Australia. I am currently 2 seat in my school's 1st IIV, recieved 1st place at State championships in my year 10 four last season and I have been named Sports Captain for 2023 at my school (St Margarets Anglican Girls School).
I can say that through my childhood I have tried almost every sport in existance, but when I discovered rowing in 2019, allong with my growing love and passion for the incredible sport, and let’s just say I’ve never looked back. Allongside Rowing I have kept my enjoyment for the sport of cross country and continue to compete at a school level.
Being resently names Sports Captain for 2023, I have reflected on what sport has taught me from a young age. I am a disaplined, Motivated, eager to learn and always down for a challenge. I aim to lead my school's sporting program with enthusiasm and courage whilst leading by example and getting arround the team I have so much pride in.
This season I have faced several sicknesses that have left me unable to train for weeks on end. Although being sick definently tested my paticence, I was able to overcome them and come back physically and mentally stronger then what I was before.
I absolutely love the opportunity to hear more about Rowing and School life whilst univercities In the US!
