Personal Statement

Hi! I’m Sara Torres and I’m a coxswain for  Bethesda Chevy Chase High Schools women’s varsity rowing team during the school year, and a varsity coxswain for D. C. National Rowing Club during the summer. I joined rowing three years ago at the beginning of my freshman year, and I immediately began to love this sport. Being able to continue to cox in college is a goal of mine. The rowing community is such a special and unique community to be a part of, one that I want to stay a part of for as long as I can. This sport has helped me grow and shape into the person I am today, and I hope that it will continue to help me grow throughout my life.
