In college, I hope to be someone that can be a "team player" when I need to be, but also be a leader to show others the way. This year will be my third year of rowing, since I have been doing it since freshman year-the earliest you can at my school. Starting my freshman year I have excelled in the sport, being one of three freshman that went to the CSSRA Regatta in Canada and stroked both boats I was in. This past year, I have made my way to fourth in the whole entire women's team (including novice) and have gotten gold at states. I went to Canada this year again, and the boats I was in I stroked and made it to finals. In this sport, I try to push everyone and help them to see the potential I know they have. I try my best to encourage every girl on the team, whether it be after a race or before a 2k. As for grades, this past year I managed to almost have a 4.0 GPA, making me an honor roll student. I kept those grades along with a job and rowing. To me, those are the priorities in my life, and so far, I think I've done a pretty good job of keeping them all balanced.
