Personal Statement

Winter '23-24 training has been going great! I have had several PR's! My erg score is now sub 7:30 at 7:29.8, Watt/kg is 4.02, and I reached my goal of 15 consecutive pull-ups!

Strong Island Sprints 2/3/2024 Women's High School Lightweight 1st Place 7:29.8, 1:52.45 split (weight 135).  Also beat all women's open weights too!

Upcoming Spring Season Regattas for 2024 - 1. Metropolitan Youth Speed Order, NJ, Mercer Lake/ISA Sculling Championship, NJ, Saratoga Invitational, NY, NY States Championship, NY, and US Rowing Youth Nationals, FL.

See my past season highlights below.

Fall '23 highlights - This fall started out amazing.  At my first Fall race, the Head of the Riverfront in Hartford, CT on 10/1/23, I came in 2nd place in the Youth 1x out of 80 boats.  This race was also used as an inter-team competition, which I came in 1st place out of all the Oak Neck girls. This landed me the the coveted 1x spot at the Head of the Charles (secured by Kate Barry the year prior)! I stroked the 4x boat as well, and we came in 5th place that day. On 10/15 at the Head of the Quinobequin in Boston, I took 3rd/bronze in the Youth 1x out of 38 boats.  The Head of the Charles on 10/22/23 was such an honor to row in. I placed 20th out of 48 boats in the Youth 1x.  I am excited that I placed high enough to have qualified to row in the 2024 Charles as a Senior.  I will train hard to do even better next year! We concluded our Fall season at Saratoga Springs on 10/27-10/28 at the Head of the Fish. Day 1 was gorgeous weather and I had a great race in the 1x coming in 2nd/silver place out of 60 boats! Day 2, the weather turned cold, rainy, and windy.  I rowed in the Varsity 4x boat where I was 3 seat and we came in 5th place out of 27 boats.  Later in the day, I raced in the U17 2x and we placed 1st! I was so excited to be going home with a silver medal and an adorable FISH plaque!

Summer '23 highlights - I competed at IDR in Philly and Summer Youth Nationals in Oakridge, TN. At Summer Youth Nationals, I placed 7th in the Youth 4x and 4th in the U17 1x. At IDR I placed 4th in both the Youth 4x and Youth 2x. In addition to summer training with Oak Neck, I participated in a High Performance Sculling Camp at Princeton University.  Here, I lived on campus and rowed in a 1x and did lots of cross training.  My favorite memory was doing Stadiums and running with the coaches and fellow campers. I loved rowing in the Fillippi single so much at the Princeton camp, that after returning home, I purchased a used Fillippi boat from one of Oak Neck's star athletes, Ella Barry.

Spring '23 highlights - At the Metropolitan Speed Order in NJ, on 3/26/23, I came in 1st place in the JV 2x and 2nd in the 4x. On 4/3/23 broke into the 7:30s with a new PR of 7:37.2 for my 2k! At Mercer Lake Sprints, I came in 1st in the lightweight 2x and 2nd in the U17 4x. At Saratoga Invitationals on 4/29 - 4/30/23, I earned  3 medals, coming in 1st place in the 4x varsity, 2nd place in the 2x varsity, and 2nd place in the U17 1x. On 5/13-5/14 I competed at New York States and came in 2nd overall in the U17 single (1st in club category), 4th overall in the varsity double, and 3rd in the U17 quad (1st in club category). On 6/8-6/11/23, I competed in the U17 women’s 1x at Youth Nationals  which I placed 5th in time trials, 5th in the semi finals, and first in the B final (9th in the country).

Winter '23 highlights - On 2/5/23, I took 1st place at Strong Island Sprints in the U19 Lightweight category with 7:47.6 2K! I performed well as a U17 rower at C.R.A.S.H.  B's in Boston on 3/5/23.  I came in 4th place with a 7:41.5 2K. I came in 1st place in my heat and 4th place overall.
