I am a passionate rower and student who hopes to compete at a highly competitive university with a D1/Ivy rowing program. Since first getting in a boat in 8th grade, I have dedicated myself to rowing, training daily to become an elite athlete and lover of the sport (my favorite boat: a 4x). When my club Row New York closed Manhattan operations during the pandemic, I immediately found Connecticut Boat Club, where I continued socially-distanced training in singles this past summer. During the academic year, I continued to train on land and in the water, and I now have a 7:36 2K time.
As a student, I currently have a 97% average, am a member of the National Honors Society, and earned a 1480 SAT on my first attempt. This past fall, I directly enrolled in a Columbia undergraduate anthropology course, earning an A grade. Looking toward a future facilitating social change as a lawyer and public policy advocate, I gained hands-on experience working on voter outreach for the Bloomberg and Biden campaigns and as intern for Mark Levine's Campaign for Manhattan Borough President. Ultimately, I want to continue studying social justice, economics, international relations and political science as an undergrad—applying the same rigor I bring to rowing to my intellectual and civic life.
