I attended a learn-to-row class for the first time in the summer of 2017 and decided I would play club soccer instead, at the time.
In February of 2019, I decided to try rowing again and decided I would race the spring season of 8th grade as a novice/middle school coxswain. I then continued to be a novice coxswain into the Fall season of 2019 and raced in Music City Head race in Nashville and Secret City Head race in Oak Ridge. I decided I wanted to row in the novice 8 as bow seat in the Head of the Hooch race.
Up until my junior year of high school, I had decided to only row each fall season, and play high school soccer in the spring instead of rowing (as I could not do both). However after I completed the fall season of my junior year, I discovered my love and passion for rowing and dedicated myself to row year-round.
Racing the 2022 spring season was one of my best decisions. I found my place as the stroke seat of an amazing 2V4. We raced and finished in 3rd at the Southeast Youth Regionals in Sarasota. It was one of the best races of my rowing career.
I hope to pursue my love of rowing through the collegiate level. Whether D1, D2, or D3, I believe that college rowing will help me push myself beyond my limits to become the best version of myself.
