Becca Stroke Seat...Personal Statement
I began rowing as a walk-on for Robert Morris University's Division I rowing team in the fall of 2021 and instantly fell in love with the sport and the feeling of connection and belonging that comes with rowing. I had the opportunity to begin the season racing as a novice before eventually being selected to stroke the Varsity 4+ boat at the MAAC conference championship in the spring of 2022. Though I loved every moment of rowing for RMU, personal circumstances have led me to have to transfer and I want nothing more than to find that same connection through sport with my new team as I had with my Robert Morris teammates.
