Personal Statement
My name is Bella and I've been rowing for four years. I promptly fell in love with the sport as a small seventh grader and still have the same love for it today. I value a strong team dynamic; it's important to me to frequently communicate with my teammates about how they're doing on the water, in the weightroom, and outside of the boathouse. My team is my biggest motivator, and every practice I try my best to give 110% because I owe it to the girls next to me. Most of all though, I strive create an environment that will let people fall in love with the sport as much as I have. Rowing has given me so much in life and I want to give as many people as possible the same opportunity to do so.
Academics are just as important to me as my training. I attend Irma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School, the first public all girls school in the state of Texas. Students here are academically competitive, and are encouraged to push themselves during school. I am extremely passionate about writing and natural sciences and want to pursue those fields in college.
