Jessica Thomas '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Jessica Thomas, I come from a small team in northern Virginia.  In my three short years of coxing I have been through 6 different coaches. I have had to adapt to not only new coaching styles but different kinds of rowers as well. This is my second year as team captain and this year I am working really hard to build a more fun, happier, and overall better rowing experience for everyone on my team.  Over the years I have started pushing myself to higher standards both academically and in crew, and I would love the opportunity to continue.  In my junior year alone I was able to raise my GPA substantially because of a lot of hard work and determination. When I am passionate about something and I set a goal nothing will stand in my way.  Crew has always been such a big part of my life because it taught me how to be responsible, strengthened my decision making skills, and made me into the competitive person I am today.
