Personal Statement
My name is Cydney M. Worthington and I am a Senior at Macon East Academy in Cecil, Alabama. I am currently a successful student athlete with a short-term goal to graduate from high school and attend a four-year college/university to pursue a degree in science and play soccer at the collegiate level.
As a student athlete, soccer is my favorite sport. I enjoy and have succeeded in defensive positions. I have played soccer since the age of three in several states within the United States as well as oversees. I have played soccer in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Seoul, South Korea, San Diego, California, and in the states of Alabama and Georgia.
I am a good candidate for a collegiate team because of my speed and soccer intelligence. I differ from other soccer players because I have the ability to be an on-the-field and I have strength in passing and kicking. I am coachable and I look for opportunities to learn and grow. I am a firm believer that growth without change is impossible.
Being successful academically is important to me. I am ready and willing to put in the time and effort to ensure I am successful in the classroom and on the field.
