I've been playing soccer for as long as I can remember so not only is soccer something I want to pursue and go far with, but it's also a goal I've been working towards my whole life. I've been through several games I put my whole heart and effort into and have still lost, but rather let this discourage me I let it motivate me to do better and work hard to come out as the winner next time. When I was told I had scoliosis the first question I had was if it was going to hold me back from soccer. I know now that I can push through anything I set my mind to and nothing will stand in the way of me reaching my goals. It does not define me, the way I react to it does.
As a soccer player and track and state cross country runner, I've learned to not only push through physical pain but to also mentally overcome things. Being a military kid, I can promise that I will be both a presence on the field and a welcoming friend to the rest of the team. No matter the obstacles, I will push to play as long and as far as I can.
