"It's hard to beat a person who never gives up." My mom says I'm the epitome of this quote from Babe Ruth. I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and have never thought about not playing. I've broken a few bones and have had a few surgeries, but I've never let it stop me from doing what I love, which is playing soccer and improving my game. I've learned that I don't have to be an active player (while recovering from an injury) to be a leader and still contribute insights learned while watching and studying the game from the sidelines. I know how to work hard, to control the things I can and adapt to any obstacles that come my way. I want to compete at the collegiate level and continue to be challenged to become a better player.
Along with soccer, I'm looking to study engineering as this fits with my interests in understanding how things work and how to make them better. I know this major will be demanding and tough to balance with my athletic and other commitments, but based on my conversations with one of my uncles, who is a Professional Engineer, I am excited to meet this challenge! Ultimately, I have every intention to maintain a healthy balance between athletics and academics, and to bring my best effort to all that I do!
