Personal Statement
I’ve grown up in a household focused on two things: soccer and academics. My dad is a retired pro soccer player so I’ve had a soccer ball at my feet since the day I was born. I even came home from the hospital in a pink Adidas outfit. I started playing rec soccer at 2 and then joined the Arkansas Comets FC Academy team at 7. From 2017-2019 I lived in Flower Mound, TX and played for Texas Spirit Soccer Club. When we returned to Arkansas, I rejoined the Arkansas Comets Club team. I recently made the switch to play for Bentonville Prodigy FC. I also made the Har-Ber High School Varsity school team and held a starting position as one of only two freshmen on the team. In the past year I made the 06G ODP Arkansas State team as well.
On the field, I am the greatest asset to my team as an outside back. I have great vision for the game and can make the play from a quick run to a smart pass or a solid cross. However, I am also a very flexible player. In the past high school season, I played every position on the field, other than goalkeeper. With this variety of experience on the field, I grew tremendously as I am able to transition from offense to defense quickly as the game changes.
In addition to soccer, academics is one of the most important factors in my life. I am a hard working student with a 3.8 GPA. I have completed my first eight college courses throughout my Freshman and Sophomore year in high school and also took AP Human Geography. I scored a 4 on my AP exam. I am very competitive and determined on and off the field. However, there’s more to me than just soccer and academics. I love being involved in my school, church, and local community. I am one of four sophomores selected by teachers and staff to be part of the student council. I also volunteered weekly at my local food pantry this past summer.
In my future college career I plan to study Business because I am an Entrepreneur at heart. I’ve already started 4 different businesses by the age of 15. I started my own pet sitting/dog walking service at 9. At age 10, I began buying and selling products on Mercari by identifying trends, buying low and selling high. I made several hundred dollars. When I was 12, I taught myself how to sew and opened an Etsy shop called Small Town Pupwear where I created handmade pet products. During the pandemic I put my skills to use by sewing face masks and donating them to the local hospital for front line workers. I was even interviewed on the local news. This summer I opened another business in which I created and sold jewelry and hair wraps at pop up stands around my neighborhood.
As I look to the future, I am interested in playing with a competitive college team for a school with a strong academic program where I can have a well-rounded college experience.
