Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Isabelle Whittaker I am currently a Junior at Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, CA. I transferred schools this past summer from Costa Mesa High for a more competitive soccer atmosphere. As my high school season just ended our team went first in league and made it to CIF-SS Div 1 quarterfinals.
As a freshmen at Costa Mesa High school I earned the starting defensive midfield position. I was a big contributor to our leagues title win, and was honored All League Defensive MVP. I was also a scholar athlete finishing up my 2019-2020 academic year with a 3.8 GPA. My sophmore year I was awarded with making the First Team All League and All SCA First Team Div 4, I also ended the year with a 3.4 GPA.
I've always loved playing sports and being active but soccer stuck more than the others. I can contribute significantly to any team I'm on and I’m determined to be successful and I always choose to be leader on and off the field. I'm intelligent with my decisions and I’m confident in my skills. I'm always keeping my head on a swivel looking for the best pass or communicating to my teammates about there surroundings. I'm a fast learner and coachable, and I have learned to make split second problem solving decisions and I'm great at time management. I take constructive criticism with an open mind and a grateful heart.
I'm looking for a team with the same passion and love for soccer as I am. I think being on the field is the time to be focused and work hard as a player and to become better and be the best athlete I can be. Off the filed I focus on my grades I try my hardest to maintain straight A's. Soccer is very important to me but my education is just as important, I've always been told I am a scholar athlete which means school first then soccer so I'm determined to keep good grades so I can play the soccer and be the best player I can be.
