Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Alanna Harrison and I currently play for the Clovis Crossfire 04 Girls Academy team and we are currently the number 1 ranked U17 girls team in the country, as ranked by GotSoccer.com. It took many years of practices, individual trainings, sprints and suicides to be able to contribute to my team to make us great. It was a little tough at first because I actually started playing soccer at 12 years old. That's a little late by today's soccer standard, but I really loved to play soccer and it became my biggest passion. Coaches had started to tell me I had a "special edge " and was talented because of my natural athleticism. I knew in my heart that I wanted to play at the next level when I attended an ECNL Showcase in Sanford, FL and saw how talented the older girls were and I was determined to be just like that. So I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and made the Florida Krush 04 ECNL team under Jamaican WNT Head Coach Hue Menzies, where for two years I started as the 9 and also started as the 7 and 11. I also played these positions as a 2 year starter on varsity. For 2 1/2 years I trained with former USMNT player Eddie Johnson along with speed and agility training from former USA Track Olympian, Ernest Wiggins. I later moved to California and joined the Clovis Crossfire 04 GA, primarily as a right and left forward and have also played outside back and midfielder.
My future aspirations are to attain my Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Sciences, because I've always had a deep interest in anatomy and the functions of the human body and I would love to train and rehabilitate others in athletics. With a weighted GPA of 3.5 which includes Honors and AP classes, I believe that I have the drive and will make a commitment to succeed as a student athlete. This a promise that I will make to myself. All of these attributes are what would make me an excellent prospect for any college coach looking for an impactful athlete. I will bring 100% work rate to all practices and games and will always continue to improve my performance.
