My name is Savannah Snider and I am a dedicated and passionate soccer player. I have been playing club soccer since the age of 5. I will be graduating from high school in 2022.
I am currently 16 years old and I am a junior at Vintage High School in Napa Valley, California. I play Varsity soccer for Vintage High School and for Santa Rosa United Club NPL/ECNL/ RL where I play as a striker/forward. I have been fortunate to always be a starter in my position. I have had the opportunity to be a team captain where I am fortunate to use my leadership skills. I averaged 18-20 goals per season my last two high school seasons. I consider myself a good and accurate passer. I had approximately 29 assists last year. I asked my high school and club team coaches to share a little about me, and this is what they shared, "She is explosive on the field and gives you everything she has." “She shows wiliness to learn and dedicates time on her own to practice.” “Her reaction time and runs into space are outstanding and her speed is amazing.” I feel blessed that I have had supportive coaches over the years and I have tremendous respect for each of them.
My father has been my biggest inspiration and my biggest supporter as he was a four-sport athlete. I have been an athlete from a young age, always playing multiple sports, however, at age 9 making a commitment to year round soccer. I love so many aspects of soccer, however, what I love about it the most is the physical and mental challenge of the game. Because of the COVID19 pandemic, I have had to create my own soccer experience, as my teams have not been able to play consistently. I work daily on soccer drills as well as fitness goals. My organization and commitment skills have been helpful during this unprecedented time.
I am still trying to narrow down what area I want to study in college. As of now, I am leaning towards sports or investigative journalism, criminal justice or law. I am flexible and open minded about what colleges I go to as long as I get a good education and the opportunity to play college soccer.
My parents have always modeled for me to be part of and give back to our community. I am active in my community where I help with serving food through Salvation Army to the homeless population, assist with the City of Napa youth diversion program where I help with Christmas and back to school supply drives. I also help with sports programs for athletes who have disabilities.
I have worked extremely hard over the years to be become a skilled and committed soccer player. My greatest dream in life is to play soccer at the collegiate level. I believe that I have the drive, the skill and the passion to play college soccer. I know that I can offer a college soccer team incredible commitment, determination, and teamwork.
