Kalaya Havellana '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kalaya Havellana. My explosive speed, technical skills, and leadership on the field is what sets me apart from the rest; but what all of my coaches have said about me is that I am coachable, and what I have can’t be taught. I can see the whole field, predict plays and patterns, and assist my teammates with that. I love soccer,  and while I may be quiet off the field, I am loud, I am tough, and nothing is getting past me in the back field when it is time to play. I am looking for a competitive team that I can feel a personal connection with, and can give me the business education I am searching for. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old, and it is my dream to one day be a professional soccer player. I train most days either with my high school team, my competitive team, or with my personal trainer. I work out everyday to keep up my conditioning and try my best to eat healthy. I was selected as a Varsity Team Captain as a sophomore, and was told that I am only the 2nd sophomore to be chosen in EC's history.  I currently play for the City SC - Carlsbad DPL & GA team, And my DPL team is currently the National Champions!  Our defensive line has only allowed 10 goals this season (season & playoffs) and went undefeated as well.  I went to several college ID camps this past summer and have learned a lot. I get along with all of my teammates and coaches on both the high school team and competitive teams. I always make an effort to listen to my coaches and teammates to strengthen my game because I feel you can learn something from everyone, good or bad.
