My name is Anisa West and I am excited for this recruiting process. I have played soccer for the majority of my life, but at each stage, I find more people commenting on my speed. I had an opportunity to explore track at the age of 11, but continued with soccer. I was excited to revisit the sport, however, once I got to high school. Unfortunately, the pandemic changed that. I had a small taste of track in my freshman year and then the world shutdown. The next season was an all sport season, so I chose what was most familiar. I ultimately had the big break my junior year. This was a tough balance with soccer, but I did my best to make it work out. I PR’d each race, with a final at 12.88. Our 4x100 relay team DQ’d for most events, so our only fastest recorded time was 50.05. Nevertheless, I have decided to focus on track and work hard to improve my times. With hard work and consistent training, I’m looking forward to an exciting season.
