Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Keyla Arellano. I am currently a national Ecuador team member, Junior at El Dorado High School, and have played soccer since I was six years old. I started falling in love with soccer when I kicked a soccer ball at the beach with my dad, played soccer games after family gatherings, and watched Ronaldinho's and some of my other favorite players’ skills and passes in every game.
I started realizing that training twice a week wasn’t going to make me a better player. So I devote as much time as I can to soccer. At 7, I started seeing how the players had gotten better, and the games were more competitive. I knew that soccer wasn’t just power but teamwork, creative skills, tactics, and making fast decisions from that point on. What sets me apart from the crowd is that I am confident in my skills. I am also a very determined player and very passionate about soccer. While playing soccer, I’ve also learned teamwork is crucial to becoming a solid family.
One of my biggest challenges is balancing my studies and soccer, I’ve learned to develop time management as a skill, and I’ve got very good at it. I can manage my time very well.
I have discovered throughout the years that I’m passionate about taking care of animals. My goal is to see animals happy rather than in pain and save animals’ lives as much as possible. I’d also like to study better treatment of disease and common animal disorders. I fit in well with veterinarians who help the community and shelters. I genuinely believe I will become a Veterinarian since I feel it’s my calling in life.
My unique characteristics and skills for college are being organized, responsible, attentive, honest, punctual, disciplined, and I’m very perseverant, always moving on no- matter how challenging the task at hand is. As an athlete, I’m coachable, collaborative, hard-working, and open to play where my team needs me.
Thank you for reading my profile.
