I started playing soccer when I was five years old, and I loved it. At nine years old, the struggle of being mentally challenged for 3 seasons by a militant coach, was one that I had to overcome. With this experience, it shaped me to become strong minded & a quick thinker on the field. I also learned how to handle stressful situations on and off the field. My team and I worked together and turned a losing team into league champs. Even though we lost some important games, I still felt we had won. As a Captain, I saw myself and the entire team grow together. Then in League 2018, we were League Champs and Playoff Champions.
As a three-sport athlete and diverse soccer player I have learned to wear many hats. Being a Goalkeeper, is a difficult position to play because I need to read the entire field, think several plays ahead and communicate with my team on the field. As a field player, that gives me the foot skills that is not common for Goalkeepers and gives me a better understanding of what the field players are thinking. Although athletics are very important, academics will always be my priority. My goal is to maintain a 4.0 or above GPA through High School and College. Balancing academics and sports in High School is challenging, but I have learned that I am well organized and determined to persevere to accomplish my goals. I know that I have the capabilities and the skills that any Coach would want on their team.
