Personal Statement
Hello,
My name is Lily Yuriar, and I would like to introduce myself. I am 16 years old and a Sophomore at Summit Preparatory Charter High School in Redwood City, California. I play varsity soccer for Summit Prep and have so since my freshman year in high school. I also play for my club team San Carlos United during the fall and spring seasons. I have played as a starter for both my club team and my varsity high school team.
I am a strong student and take my education seriously. I currently have 3.5 GPA and wan to focus on getting into a competitive college to pursue a major that will help me get accepted into and prepare me for law school. My goal is to eventually to begin a career in social justice law, or an are working to advocate for youth in foster care. I am currently working on as the founder of Girl Paks a non-profit that provide teen girls with beauty care packages. The mission of my non-profit is to allow girls in Foster Care to have access to new beauty products that they may not have access to within the foster care system.
I understand competition and hard work. In addition to playing soccer I was also a figure skater for many years and in 2017 represented team USA in the Theater on Ice Nations Cup in Ann Arbor, Michigan competing against other countries from around the world, as we’ll as receiving the 2017 Junior National title at the Theater on Ice National in Evansville, Indiana.
