Cora Colvin '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cora Belle Colvin. I am 17 and a senior at Notre Dame High School. 

I have always been a leader since I was very young, but I didn’t know enough about leadership to always be effective.  I realized something very important about myself when I started playing soccer.  I excel when I am surrounded by people who are stronger, faster, smarter and better than me and they push me to set higher standards for myself. 

As such, I have worked hard to play at the highest levels I am capable,  including  playing up a year to learn from more skilled players.  These important skills have helped me with my education.  As soon as I started putting myself in more difficult classes and getting on better teams, I improved tremendously both with my grades and my soccer performance.  

This is one reason why I am seeking opportunities to play college soccer.  I need a goal, literally, and I am the most motivated when I can see and learn from someone who is better than me. Playing college soccer will benefit my college academic opportunities because when I have a goal, I work hard to succeed.

My strongest attributes are that I am hardworking, highly coachable and driven.  I look forward to finding the right learning opportunity to match my skills.
