Personal Statement
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Graciela Guillermina Gonzalez AKA “Gigi”. Coming from a military family and having a busy schedule has taught me great work ethic, many valuable skills that I will surely bring into college: discipline, time management, determination, teamwork, and leadership. What truly sets me apart from others is my versatility, tenacity, strength, grit, and the ability to adapt to change. I am currently a freshman-class of 2025 at Academy of Our Lady of Peace High School in San Diego, California, where I plan to play play on the Varsity Girls Soccer Team, cross country, and track. I am an Honor Roll student taking Honors courses. My parents being the phenomenal teachers and coaches that they have been my greatest influence and inspiration, especially my father who has played this wonderful sport his entire life. I currently play for Rebels ECNL G07 from Chula Vista California. I am strong player capable of cold calculating goals and experienced at al attack positions and GK on the field. I believe my athleticism, discipline, and intellect paired with my work ethic and team commitment are my greatest attributes as a student athlete and will make me a great fit to your team.
In college I hope to thrive in both academics and athletics, while forging the bases of my success in life with newly found friends and teammates. I want to pursue my most prominent passions – soccer, criminology, and science. My goal is to get through undergrad with a soccer scholarship, and one day further my education and get a PhD just like my father. Ever since I was five I've been a very ambitious and hardworking student-athlete, keeping up with multiple extracurriculars and sports thanks to mother’s time management teachings while administrating my grades. I enjoy collaborating and being around others, whether it's in sports, school clubs and supporting my sibling sports activities.
