Personal Statement
I am Mia Stewart (Right Outside Back) from San Diego, California graduating in class of 2021. Soccer is my passion and my goal and dreams are to play Division1 soccer. My search for colleges is very open minded and I am so excited and hope to one day play college soccer! My dad attended UNC and had the opportunity to play basketball for the team as well. I attend Point Loma High School and made Varsity as a Freshman! I am currently on the Developmental Academy (DA) team for Albion SC 03 coached by Andre Schmid. I was invited again in 2018 to try out for the ODP Team for Southern California, but was unable to participate due to the rules of the US Soccer federation (DA). I played on the CalSouth 03 ODP Summer team in 2017 and was chosen as an alternate for the Winter 2018 Cal South ODP team (who won the Western Regionals this year). Soccer is where I focus my life. I strive to get better with every practice and am so excited to see where this journey will take me.
In school, I am a great student (quote from my teachers). Currently I have a GPA of 4.3! I completed my 3rd year of Spanish, am fluent in Mandarin and completed honors integrated math 2, and seminar English. Academics, soccer and family are always first in my life.
Playing soccer in college is my absolute DREAM AND GOAL that I am working extremely hard for, but I know it all ends. If (and when) competitive soccer ends for me, I want to become a veterinarian. I have had the opportunity to shadow our local vet last summer and will be volunteering for the San Diego Humane Society and Helen Woodward Animal Shelter.
But of course,my main goal now is to get a scholarship to college for playing the sport I love .
