Ana Centeno '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ana Centeno. I am an Attacking Midfielder who currently plays Club and high school Soccer at the Varsity level. I play club soccer for South San Jose Alphas YSL 02G White in San Jose, California. I attend Yerba Buena High School in San Jose, California. I am a very passionate player who seeks every opportunity to improve. Additionally, I am very committed and disciplined. I attend all of my club practices and invest a lot of personal time to train on my own. As a student-athlete, I believe it is extremely important for me to find a university/college that will not only offer me a great athletics program but a great academics one as well.  A collegiate aspiration that I have is to learn and put myself in a diverse environment. I would also like to learn about other cultures and things. I think it's important for one to expand their horizons and take themselves out of their comfort zone. As a collegiate athlete, I would like to make an impact right away and just learn more about the game of soccer in general because I believe that I could learn so much from others. I think that something that sets me apart from other recruits is that I am a hard work, determined, disciplined, and I can take criticism and implement it to my game.  I am the type of player that likes to be coached and becomes a leader on the field. On the field I am very vocal and helpful to my teammates. For me soccer has been my whole life for as long as I can remember. It is something that I am very passionate about. This sport has taught me so many life lessons and has taken me to different places. In addition, soccer has helped me meet so many different people and build life long friendships. I hope that I am blessed with the opportunity to continue my craft and passion at the collegiate level.
