Ava Paez '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches!

My name is Ava, and I am a student athlete who excels in the classroom and on the field. My goal is to earn a degree in Biology--with an emphasis in Marine Biology--from a leading university while playing collegiate soccer at the highest level possible. After earning my BS, I will be attending graduate school to become either a Marine Biologist or Medical Doctor.

What coaches should know about me is that I am a hard-working team player who takes pride in being fundamentally sound and physical. I am the type of player who gives it her all, who brings positivity and energy to practice and games, who loves to compete and wants to win. I am a defender, and while I am most comfortable as a center-back, I can also play wing and defensive-mid, but will play where  ever the team needs me.  I am an unselfish player!

As a student, I have earned honor roll each semester and have a 3.92 gpa. I push myself to take challenging classes because I like to learn. I took two AP courses in my junior year and passed the exams; I am slated to take four AP classes my senior year.  I have also classical piano since age 5 and participate in the challenging Certificate of Merit program (Level 8).  I have earned 12 college credits by taking community college courses during the summer--and once during winter break. I also have a part-time job this summer, working for Vicki Marsha Uniforms.  

One last thing to know about me is that I am loyal--I have been with the same team since 7th grade. We began as an ECRL team, but with a few coaching and club changes, we moved from DPL and are now at the Discovery level. I have had the opportunity to move to ECRL teams, but have stayed with my club because I have made great friendships with the players--they are like a second family.  Coach Gomez has been awesome! If you give me a chance, you will see what a tough player I am.
