Chaylin Couzens '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'7" forward/midfielder from Yucca Valley, California and will graduate with the 2013 class.  I have seven years club experience.  I played four years with the Desert United Soccer Club, being selected as the captain for three of those years. In 2010, I played for Riverside MGFM Force winning the Coast Soccer League Silver Elite South GU15 bracket.  My club team has joined the Laguna Hills Eclipse Soccer Club and we played against some high level teams in the new SCDSL and I was awarded Captain 2011.  Club experience has helped my high school career.  During my freshman year I was a varsity starter and my accomplishments were All CIF Third Team, All League First Team, and Coach's Award.  My sophomore year, I repeated the same accomplishments and added Varsity Captain, as well as the high school record for all-time leading scorer with 45 goals, and MVP.  Last year, my junior year, I was Varsity Captain, made All CIF first team, and up to 70 career goals.  Looking to the future, I am excited for the opportunity to continue my soccer career at the collegiate level with the willingness to travel near or far.  My strengths are my vision, ball skills, speed running in behind the defence, and my work ethic.  Ideally, I want to be at a program where I would be able to make a strong contribution in assisting with the success of the team.
