I dream of playing soccer at the collegiate level where I can contribute to the success of my future team. I began playing soccer at the age of 6 and although I have competed in other sports such as basketball and track, soccer is truly the sport I love. (Just ask the track coach…)
Personally I am very competitive, dedicated to continuous improvement, love being part of a team and also feel like I have a pretty good sense of humor. I have been told that my speed, lateral quickness and athleticism are my best attributes on the pitch.
I believe that academics are the highest priority and I am working hard to raise my grades to a much higher level to meet my ability and personal expectations. I am taking AP courses, honors classes, dual enrollment courses and higher level programs such as Spanish 5. I will continue to strive to be successful in college academics aspiring to major in a program that will lead to a career in Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine or Business Administration. I would also like to minor in Spanish.
As a student athlete I can offer a college team my strong soccer experience both in high school and club play. In club soccer I have been playing up one age group higher than my actual age group for the last 3 years. By playing with/against older girls, I feel like this has provided me with a higher level of competitive experience and made me be a better performer. I am currently playing for the Colorado Real U18 Athletico Team in the Colorado Super League classification where we are ranked as one of the top teams in Colorado. In high school I earned a spot on varsity as a freshman, sophomore, and junior on a very competitive Rock Canyon team that is consistently one of the top 5A schools in the state. My freshman year our team finished 2nd in the state with an overtime loss in the 5A Colorado State Championship. My sophomore year we were the Continental League Champions and again went deep into the playoffs. And my junior year we made it to the semi-finals as well. I am really looking forward to my final high school season as a senior!
Additionally, I have done volunteer work for the Colorado Storm Youth Soccer Development Program and the Douglas County Educational Foundation. I am a member of RCHS Key Club working on projects such as our annual blood drive and fundraising project for Escuela Verde, our sister school in Costa Rica. I currently hold a leadership position in the District Student Advisory Group and represent the Rock Canyon High School student body at the monthly meetings with District administrative personnel. Previously I was on the Principal's Advisory Council with my school.
