As an inspiring young athlete, my faith, family, and passion for soccer have greatly influenced my drive for excellence. My family and the members of my community have shaped me into who I am today. When I was four years old I was at my sisters soccer game, when I found that soccer was not only a sport but a way of life. I became really interested in soccer when I discovered that it was a place for me to relieve all my stress and that whenever I can go out and kick a ball around my mood automatically changes. Throughout my years of playing soccer I have really discovered my passion for being a leader and speaking out for those who can’t speak out for themselves. My academic goals for high school include getting into more challenging courses and thriving in them. I also strive to do the absolute best of my abilities on my SAT and ACT tests. My college goals include acing all the classes I sign up for, building a community in the environment I am in, and go to a school where I can strive in showcasing my soccer skills. To get to where I am today I had to overcome some obstacles that include having negative teammates who are always trying to make themselves feel better by putting others down. This made me lose so much confidence in myself that I almost believed that I didn’t know how to play soccer. I ultimately had to put mind over matter and find who I really was as a soccer player again. After I had done that, I found that self positivity and a good attitude can go a long way. Some unique characteristics that I posses is the fact that I have strong perseverance that drives me to finish strong in whatever I start.
