Personal Statement
My number one collegiate goal is being a part of a strong academic program and attaining my degree. Additionally, playing soccer competitively at the collegiate level while developing team skills, life-long relationships, and leadership skills runs a close second. I am a good candidate for your team because I am coachable, resilient, and persistent and want to help my team win. Just as important, I am not only determined to better myself but elevate the team as well. I played soccer early in life and enjoyed the sport. However, I pursued martial arts for about seven years when others continued with club soccer. I attained the rank of 3rd Degree Brown Belt in Kempo Karate and stopped there only because I was not yet old enough to test for adult black belt. During that waiting period, I returned to soccer in the 8th grade and have been hooked on the sport ever since. I also became involved in two different businesses about this time and, with my other activities, never had the opportunity to play on club teams. Despite that, I am driven to improve my skills as a goalkeeper, player, and team member. In doing so, I aim to win.
