Personal Statement
I started playing club in Aliso Viejo, CA at the age of 6. I’ve lived in Aurora, CO for 5 years. If I experience failure, I practice until I feel confident. I maintain a positive mindset on and off the field. Once I joined a club in Colorado after moving, I worked on improving my skills right away. This is memorable to me because it was the moment I became extremely dedicated to the sport I love. I would juggle for 2-3 hours every day after practice and try to beat my personal record. Just two years ago I was so proud of myself for finally getting to 20. Now my record is 593. By taking the extra time outside of practice to improve myself, I was able to move up multiple times within my club. After the first season on the team, I was moved up to the next level. Again, after only one season on that team, I was moved up once more. I have been on my current team for 3 seasons now.
On every team I’ve been on, I listen to my coaches and quickly learn the plays and strategies. I’ve always thought that coaches put me where they need me. Therefore, I make sure to be aware of my responsibilities in each position. I give my all for every second I am on the field. Disappointment motivates me to become better. I refuse to give up and will always play my best game. I have my own training equipment and go out to a park almost every day during off season to work individually. When practices start up again, I attend all of them and work hard during the session. I do this because I feel motivated and determined to become the best I can be. When I train individually or with others I am at my highest intensity. Each session I feel stronger, faster, and more precise. I understand there is always room for improvement and I’m willing to take every step to better myself.
