Personal Statement
My name is Leigh McDonald, and I am a junior at Mountain View High School in Loveland, Colorado. I am 5'9" and 140 pounds. I have played soccer since the fourth grade and began club soccer at the age of 12. Since then, my speed, foot skills and understanding of the game have improved immensely. I believe my strengths as a player are my speed and communication with my team I currently play Club United soccer on Hilary Lind's U18 team. As well as soccer, I began running track to help with my speed and endurance. Through my whole high school career, I have been a varsity starter and was the only freshman player to start varsity that year. My sophomore year, I was the top goal scorer for my team. I have also been awarded MVP for three different soccer seasons. This year, my junior year, I was elected as one of the team captains. I received All-Conference Team Honorable Mention Award for the 2014 season. For the 2014 season, I also was named to the CHSAA Academic All State First Team. It has been a goal of mine to play soccer at the collegiate level and would be so grateful and excited to be a part of a higher level team. I am a hard worker and a fast learner, I also know what it means to be part of a team and work together. I am looking for an opportunity to be part of a competitive, but fun, team where I can grow as both a player and a person.
