Lily Tiefel Personal Statement
My goals and aspirations for my soccer career is to be the best I can be as a soccer player. Since my family has moved around the country due to the military I have had to learn to fit in on several different club and school teams. This unique perspective has given me the desire to simply play soccer that the highest level I have the opportunity to play at, I and in different situations. It has been daunting to start over at different clubs over the years but my love for soccer has pushed me to persevere and continue playing no matter where I am. I want to be the leader on my team, the person everyone can count on to bring the team together. Being a team leader, giving one hundred percent every day, striving for greatness, and applying my technical skill are a few characteristics that make me a good candidate for any colligate team. I am different from other recruits in character because I don’t quite, we could be losing by ten and I would still cheer on my team and work hard so my team can see and work hard with me. I also work to be the best student athlete I can be as well. Athletics wise, every team is filled with athletes but I stand out because I can play anywhere on the field without complaint, with excitement that I can be of service to my team. Finally, academics is my primarily focus. I am always up for a challenge either in the classroom or on the soccer field. I have been taking honors classes since my freshman year of high school. I am devoted to my studies and will continue maintaining high grades in all my classes. Through a challenging academic coarse load, playing varsity soccer, club soccer and U19 women’s ice hockey I have learned how to juggle many demands which has taught me efficient time management skills.
