Personal Statement
Soccer is a family passion. My grandfather played at the professional level in Italy and my father has played competitively all of his life and has been coaching for more than 10 years. I started playing soccer at the Laureano Ruiz Soccer Academy on an all boys soccer team when I was about 9. In eighth grade I moved up and began playing on the U19 boys team. I played on that team through my sophomore year. It was a difficult transition going from playing a Barcelona type game with a bunch of U19 boys to playing on the varsity girls soccer team at Kent, my high school. The boys taught me a lot about the game. They taught me to not back down and to be aggressive when facing an opponent. I still practice with the LRSA boys 4 times a week, and with the Kent boys varsity soccer team in the off season, but I play competitively with my Varsity Girls Soccer team at Kent and on a club team. I am a part of World Class FC on their NPL U17 team. I am very dedicated to soccer and love the game very much. This dedication can also be seen in the classroom as I work very hard and try to take the most challenging classes offered. I hope to continue playing soccer at the college level and beyond.
