Like many of my teammates, soccer has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. I played for the same town, with the same people, for more than 10 years. I was not especially gifted, so I worked hard to keep up. Throughout this time I got good grades, never receiving less than a B+. However, by the end of my sophomore year of high school, I had made the decision to leave. I wanted to push myself both academically and athletically, and going to a boarding seemed the best way.
Over these past few months, I have made it onto the Kent Girls Varsity Soccer, and then started in our only game of the season. I have received straight A's in all of my classes, reaching the High Honor Roll. In short, I am a hard worker in any setting (academic or athletic), and I really develop when forced to change.
Skills wise, I have very good endurance, and can chase almost anyone down. This also helps when I'm playing the wings, being able to make a run late in the game and get to the ball. In the past year my first touch and dribbling has improved, but it is something that I continue to work on.
While everything I have shared so far is important, I feel that my main difference is actually the attitude that I bring to my teams. I love soccer, and the community that I have found within it, so when I am on the field I am always smiling. I listen to coaches, and care about their opinions. Even as a new junior, I have also found myself wanting to be a leader on the field. I think I succeeded, as my teammates recognized me at the end of the season for having one of the best attitudes and the most mental toughness.
