Hello Coaches!
My name is Morgan Desaulniers. I am a part of the 2020 graduating class and a goalkeeper at both Caesar Rodney High School (CRHS) and Coastal Athlantic Futbol Club (CAFC). I am interested in playing collegiate soccer while studying biology, psychology, or some kind of behavioral science to eventually go into medical school and become a clinical psychiatrist.
As a goalkeeper, I am very aggressive, physical and unafraid to make risky yet necessary plays. I have an outstanding shot-stopping percentage of eighty-nine percent and had nine shutouts during the last school season and many more during my club season. I am also very comfortable distributing the ball, whether it be playing with my feet or throwing/punting. During games, I am always communicating, whether it is encouraging my fellow teammates or giving them constructive feedback. I have always had a great passion for the game; I could play all day everyday and never tire of it, which is another great trait I have that enables me to further my skills and learn new skills. I strive to dominate on the field and to lead my teammates to victory.
During this past school season, Spring of 2018, my team had a final record of 15-2-1, losing only against Padua Academy, who is ranked twelfth in the nation, in both the normal season and in the State Championship game. CRHS girls soccer won the Henlopen Conference Chamiponships and earned the second place spot state-wide. Individually, I received the awards of “Hardest Worker”, given by my high school coach, as well as 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State.
Off field successes are just as important as on field successes; I am a very successful AP/Honor Roll student. My freshman year of high school I took all of the honors courses available and maintained a 4.0 GPA and received Academic All-Conference. Sophomore year, I took four AP classes on top of the other honors classes and continued to maintain a 4.0 GPA and received Athleic Honor Roll, only because of one B all year. This year, my junior year, I participate in three AP classes and two honors classes and am maintaining a 4.0 GPA, which enabled me to be inducted in the National Honor Soceity. I am also in the top twelfth percentile of my graduating class. I take great pride in my education; while in school, I push myself as hard as I can to thrive and reach my goals. No time is waisted and I take no “easy A” classes; I simply do not believe in them. This is something, I believe, sets me apart from other student athletes.
Some other things that I believe set me apart from other student-athletes are as follows:
I am a leader through my actions and words on and off the field. I encourage my teammates to be the best they can, and always put the team first.
I am extremely competitive and hate losing, but I do not let this get in the way of my love of the game and the satisfaction of playing all the time.
I always give one hundred and ten percent of effort during training, games and in the classroom. I have been complimented numerous times by my coaches, managers, and teachers in regards to my outstanding work ethic.
My understanding of the game has only grown since I first played during Kinder-Kickers. It has grown tremendously and I am able to start offensive attacks from my eighteen. This understanding has also helped with my communication and leadership on the team.
I would like to continue to challenge myself in both my academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level, my highlight videos and link to my YouTube channel can be found on the bottom of my page. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or feedback you may have.
Thank You,
Morgan Desaulniers
