I've been a GK for most of my soccer career and know that as a part of playing that position, my responsibilities go beyond just playing well. The role demands leadership and poise and can have a big impact on the entire team’s play. My club coach calls me a difference maker. At first I was intimidated by the extra demands, but now it's part of the reason I love the role. I've started approaching basketball and field hockey the same way. In all 3 sports, I know the things I do, both big and small, can help my teammates play their best. Although our coaches pick upperclassmen as the official captains, I’m known as the unofficial captain in all 3 sports: field hockey, basketball, and soccer. Sometimes that means giving 110%; sometimes that means keeping things light and fun. I continue to grow and get better as an athlete and a leader and I am looking for a college team where that journey can continue.
