Hi coaches, my name is Addi Kafele. I am a 10th-grade scholar-athlete. My goal is to play competitive soccer in college. I play striker 9 and right-wing 7. I am known for my speed, ability to pressure and disrupt play, and see the open spaces. My coaches describe me a someone who can shift the momentum of play, a game changer, and a fighter. In middle school, I played on varsity high school team and lead that team to a conference championship -- the first time since the '80s! The Washington Post wrote an article about my role. I moved to a high school with more competitive program to challenge myself, St. John's College High School and was one of two freshman playing Varsity on that team, ranked #9 in the nation. I am on varsity this year too. My club team won its conference the last 2 years, making it to national competitions and state finals. In addition to my teams, I also do individual work with a personal technical trainer who helps me fine-tuned my technical abilities, and performance training to build my strength. I am highly competitive, determined, and coachable.
Outside of soccer, I am a strong student and a leader. Despite being dyslexic, I have a 3.8 unweighted GPA. I was selected by faculty to represent my class. I also volunteer at a community center and am a Best Buddy! What I am most passionate about is sports -- all sports, but specifically women's sports. My long term goal is to have a career in sports journalism or sports management. I see myself as being a voice and advocate for women's sports.
I am a great teammate and hope to be a part of a college team. Hope you will come see me play!
Addi
